There are multitudes of opportunities for students to gain health care experience.

Keep in mind – how you dedicate your time will help shape your application for professional school.

Medically Related / Clinical Experiences

Medically related experiences add to the service component of an application, but time spent in a clinic or hospital is also important in confirming your interest and suitability for a particular health career. This can be volunteer or paid work in a hospital, clinic, pharmacy, dental office, veterinary office, or other health-related setting. Other opportunities include: shadowing a health care professional, training as an emergency medical technician (EMT), or working as a medical scribe at a clinic or hospital.
