Welcome to the Health Professions Advising Office (HPAO)
The Health Professions Advising Office at San Diego State University supports students and alumni exploring careers in the health professions. We provide guidance and resources for academic planning, experiential development, and application preparation, helping each student build a clear, strategic path to competitive professional programs. Whether you’re just beginning to explore healthcare or actively preparing to apply, HPAO is here to guide you every step of the way.
Our mission is to prepare SDSU students and alumni to become well-qualified, ethically grounded, and culturally competent healthcare professionals. Through personalized advising, targeted programming, and hands-on support, we help students develop the knowledge, skills, and leadership needed to succeed in healthcare and make a meaningful impact in diverse communities.
