• Can meet one-on-one advising with HPAO Advising Assistants to answer their pre-med or pre-PA questions or check-in about their pre-health journey.
  • Completing all of the necessary steps listed in Calendly is necessary in order to book and keep your appointment. Cancellation Policies and No-show policies will be strictly adhered to.
  • Available for 30 minute appointments.
  • Appointments can only be scheduled 3 calendar weeks in advance (subject to availability)

    H.P.A.O. Advising Tardy, Cancellation and “No-Show” Policies

    1. Tardy Policy: If you are more than 10 minutes late to your scheduled appointment time, your appointment will be cancelled and this will be counted as a “No-show”.

    2. Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel your appointment…

    • Please either cancel your appointment through Calendly (if scheduled through Calendly)
    • To cancel through Calendly, scroll down to the email sent to you from google calendar or go to the event on your google calendar. There should be an option to cancel, at the bottom. 

    3. “No-Show” Policy: If a student misses their appointment without notifying our office ahead of time, it counts as a “No-show.”

    • First “no-show” – the student is still eligible for one-on-one advising with H.P.A.O staff but will be scheduled at the latest availability date.
    • Second “no-show” – the student is only eligible to seek pre-health advising with the Director through group advising and ineligible to meet with H.P.A.O. staff individually for the remainder of the current academic semester.
      • All “no-shows” are documented in each student’s folder

    4Extenuating Circumstances Policy: Should extenuating circumstances occur (i.e. death in the family, severe sickness, Covid-19 related illness, etc.) and as a result, a student misses their advising appointment, they should contact the H.P.A.O. advising staff at hpao@sdsu.edu as soon as possible to discuss scheduling options (subject to availability constraints).


    What if I have an urgent or time sensitive issue?

    If urgent, please fill out an Urgent/ Time Sensitive Request form. This form can be accessed through our Canvas page. Only specific reasons will be accepted for this type of appointment.
